Henrik Vibskov Closes Copenhagen Fashion Week

The closing show of Copenhagen Fashion Week came from Henrik Vibskov, the ringmaster of the young Danish fashion scene. He became a household name (in Scandinavia at least) several years ago with his ubiquitous tassled scarves and pig-print keffiyehs. But Henrik's real strength is his sometimes outrageous use of prints and texture, a skill that's garnered him a real cult international following.

The show was held on a wooden bridge over a pond at Ørstedsparken, a public park north of the city centre. Guests were seated on benches along the bridge, and the show was even open to the general public (who purchased tickets).

Henrik sent out sort-of steampunk-styled models in his typical loose & relaxed shapes and quirky tailoring, complete with unexpected elements like a giant cushion clutched in the arms of a caped model. His references may feel unpredictable, but regardless of what he sends downt the runway Copenhagen'ites will celebrate their beloved hometown fashion star. Vibskov2
