Versace, the Italian fashion label is one of the world's leading international fashion houses and it is best known in unique clothing lines and luxurious designs. This time in the Fall/Winter 2010/2011 Menswear Collection, Donatella Versace comes out with a rock ’n’ roll yet futuristic line on men’s clothing.
The Versace fashion label started taking shape in 1978 when designer and founder Gianni Versace opened his first fashion boutique in Milano. Their popularity kept growing so the label did too, until a very unfortunate incident happened and Gianni was killed. After that, his sister, Donatella took over Versace fashion house and she is now the artistic director. She is in charge of every season’s collection and from what we can see she does her job amazingly good and we are sure that her brother is very proud of her. Today, Versace brand is a very well known name in luxurious clothing for women and men, couture collections, accessories like jewelry or watches, perfumes or makeup and even interior designs. "We're going back to the values of the Gianni Versace man from the early Nineties.” According to Donatella the Fall/Winter 2010/2011 Men’s Wear Collection is a flash-back for Gianni’s conception of the ‘90s. We have leather, hardware, chains and metal, all combined with a futuristic cyberpunk look. The Versace Fall/Winter 2010/2011 Men’s Wear Collection contains different items like biker leather jackets, cyber sunglasses, sheer shirts, skinny pants, shiny combat boots, patent leather trousers, abstract printed shirts and jackets, trench coats and striped suits. In the end, every single piece in Versace’s Fall/Winter 2010/2011 Men’s Wear Collection is a piece of art and of course all that thanks to Donatella, who did an extraordinary job and surprised us once again.
Donatella has definitely made a huge impression in the past years with her stunning collections in celebrity’s eyes because we often see a Versace look on the red carpet. Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Lady Gaga or Elizabeth Hurley are only a few celebrity fans of her. Also, to promote her advertising campaigns she used as models fashion icons like Madonna, Halle Berry, Milla Jovovich, Demi Moore or Christina Aguilera in the women’s category only. For men’s wear lines she used as models actors like Ashton Kutcher, Ian Somerhadler from TV shows like Lost or The Vampire Diaries and Patrick Dempsey from Grey's Anatomy.
The colors used in this collection are mainly black but to accentuate the futuristic look we have electric blue, turquoise, dark green, metal gray or purple.
